Rick McCartney

Rick McCartney has been producing, publishing and working in development for more than 30 years. He is President and CEO of InMedia, a tech-media company that is developing multiple local journalistic properties and data-driven tech products, and produces many local, regional, and national publications and media products, including the In Business Magazine brand, Vicinity Magazines brand. InMedia Productions is his filmed entertainment division, based in Los Angeles, where he develops and produces feature films, reality content and documentaries.
McCartney is chiefly involved with In Business Magazine, a B2B brand that began in Phoenix, in 2010, and is moving to other burgeoning cities like Austin, Denver, San Diego, and Portland, as publisher and chief content officer and board chair.
He serves as chairman of the board at one-n-ten, an organization that takes LGBTQ youth off the streets. He is a member of Greater Phoenix Leadership, and is past chairman of the board of the Children’s Museum of Phoenix. McCartney also is a member of the Kellenberger + Tollefson LGBTQ Center at the Arizona Community Foundation where he raises money to grant to LGBTQ groups demonstrating great change. He serves as an Advisory Board Director of the Phoenix Film Foundation. McCartney is past chairman of the Maricopa Workforce Connections Board where he worked to create job opportunities for both the disadvantaged and unemployed. Then Governor Brewer (Ariz.) appointed McCartney to the Workforce Arizona Council where he served as chairman of the Marketing Committee where he has worked to re-brand the workforce entity in Arizona to Arizona@Work. His other work includes mentoring two youths through New Pathways for Youth and raising money for nonprofits nationally that work with children, education, and youth at risk.
